We are presently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer that will drive continual improvement, build a customer-supplier focused partnership, and ensure ISO-9001 compliance via company quality management processes and deliverables.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and improve positive supplier relationships.
- Implement quality improvements professionally.
- Represent the Quality, Engineering, and Procurement groups to suppliers for quality-related matters.
- Issue and ensure timely and effective closure of supplier corrective action requests (SCAR).
- Monitor and ensure Supplier Nonconformance Reports (SNCR) are closed timely and MRB repeated nonconforming dispositions result in SCARs.
- Participate in Supply Chain Team meetings with the buyers to address Supplier OTD, SPPM, and other aspects of the supplier’s scorecard.
- Drive the supplier qualification process, including reviewing supplier assessment surveys and supplier audit to approve, suspend, and disqualify suppliers appropriately.
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and assist in specification development and verification for transition to production:
- Assist engineering in defining appropriate inspection plans and coordinating with metrology team (incoming inspection specialists) to ensure capable measurement methods are defined.
- Ensure item compliance flow-down is complete and suppliers can meet the requirements and First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Help manage compliance with regulatory requirements (RoHS, REACH etc.).
- Plan and ensure procured materials product quality meets engineering specifications during the project and for sustaining production release.
- Coordinate ongoing inspection and document packages including CofCs with supplier shipments.
- Work with Supply Chain (Purchasing department) to find and review potential optic, electronic, PCBA, and mechanical suppliers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or five+ years of general supplier Quality Engineering experience.
- 2+ years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer preferred.
- Previous experience as an optical or mechanical inspector is highly desired.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Experience in interpretation and understanding of design drawing GD&T.
- Ability to take responsibility for quality of all assigned products.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30% of the time often visiting multiple suppliers in a 3- to 5-day duration trip.
- Proficient in MS Office 360 products.
- Experience with Minitab, JMP or other statistical analysis software

Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
