Duties
- Performs and documents process improvements related to supply chain quality. Increase quality, throughput and efficiency through implementing process, equipment, fixture, and layout improvements with suppliers. Takes ownership of high visibility projects, opportunities, and corrective actions to ensure internal and external customers’ needs are met. Organizes work daily workflow by coordinating with other departments to meet customer expectations.
- Works with suppliers to resolve DMR issues on returned items and identifies root causes and corrective actions. Assists in providing solutions to suppliers, and internal quality processes through established procedures. Recommends new QA and supplier processes, or improvements to current processes. Corrective actions may require the SQE to train or retrain employees in other departments. Schedules must be coordinated with trainee’s supervisor or manager.
- Supports process improvements to improve incoming product. Coordinates with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Materials, Sales and Estimating to support process, manufacturability and supplier or Quality improvements.
- Maintains Key Performance Quality Metrics for Supply Chain. Perform or assist with on-site or electronic supplier assessments and surveys.

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

General Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Any combination of education and training, equivalent to graduation from an accredited college/university with a BS degree in Quality, Business, Engineering, or other program that would provide required knowledge, skill and ability to perform the job.
Minimum of 36 months general quality or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 24-months specific experience in precision metals fabrication and machining. Receives little direction or supervision on assignments. Exercises high-level of discretionary judgment on a regular basis. Basic hands-on machining, welding or other skilled knowledge preferred.
