Key Responsibilities
• Develop a supply base with qualified suppliers by performing on-site audits and creating an Approved Supplier List (ASL)
• Coach, mentor suppliers in Continuous Improvement Management principles to improve the supply chain, reducing waste and contribute to cost savings
• Work with internal teams to address NCMRs (non-conforming material reports) relative to external supplier defects and/or quality issues
• Provide important support to the New Product Introduction process, ensuring supplier capability and capacity for program launches and demand fluctuations
• Travel on-site for supplier support to ensure continuity of supply, especially during periods of delivery or capacity challenges that could affect manufacturing
• Conduct value stream and capacity analyses at supplier sites, proposing process changes to decrease lead times and inefficiencies and contribute to cost savings (Six Sigma, Kaizen, and project management)
• Lead efforts in cost reduction through Value Analysis/Value Engineering, collaborating with internal and external engineers to achieve the project objectives and goals
• Promote supply base consolidation and product transfer projects for second sourcing initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering required
• Ability to travel 20 - 25% of the time required
• Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• AS9100 Lead Auditor certification preferred
• Six Sigma LEAN yellow, green, or black belt certification preferred
• Must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident
Salary Range: $90,000 to $100,000 Depending on experience
