This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, LANTAREA, Eighth Coast Guard District, Sector Houston/Galveston, Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Port Arthur in Port Arthur, TX.
Qualifications:To Qualify at the GS-13 Grade Level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include:
- Developing, implementing, and assessing preparedness
- Planning, emergency and incident management practices
- Leading and/or supervising a team of professionals while managing multiple simultaneous projects
- Leading an Emergency Management program
- Developing position papers, briefing and meeting preparation materials for decision making at the strategic level to support organizational efficiency
- Conducting special studies and performance analyses in support of decision making at the operational and tactical levels
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
