Job description

In this position, you will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist for Region Six. Your primary focus will be providing equal access to critical information to individuals with Limited English Proficiency during disaster response and recovery operations. This role encompasses not only traditional Public Affairs responsibilities but also included project management of language contracts, conducting stakeholder outreach, and providing expertise in language access matters.Qualifications:

To qualify for this Public Affairs Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:

  1. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to determine appropriate media formats;
  2. Analyzing media campaigns to report issues and recommend changes and/or improvements; and,
  3. Drafting correspondence related to Public Affairs such as, talking points and/or responses to media inquiries.
