Position Description
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse logistics to operate at maximum efficiency, while identifying opportunities for process improvement. The successful candidate is expected to lead by example by working alongside employees and fostering a positive work environment. This position is primarily responsible for delegating various warehouse tasks such as shipping and receiving, inventory management, and customer order fulfillment. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
Key Competencies Required to be Successful as a Warehouse Supervisor
- Manage the day-to-day warehouse duties and responsibilities to meet and exceed targets; ensure all warehouse activities are performed safely and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with the management team to provide regular updates and promptly communicate any issues; provide solutions to resolve discrepancies and fulfill customer orders
- Promote operational excellence and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction; perform quality assurance checks
- Onboard and ensure new employees receive the appropriate training to effectively perform job duties; set performance goals, evaluate employee performance, and provide feedback
- Manage shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies via UPS, FedEx, and other freight companies
- Efficiently pick customer orders to ship same day
- Retrieve customer orders from warehouse shelves, ensuring accuracy based on the item number, serial numbers, size, quantity, etc.
- Label orders and prepare for shipping while properly handling hazardous and non-hazardous items in accordance with OSHA and internal protocols
- Maintain and organize warehouse shelving for optimal operational efficiency; rotate inventory based as per shelf life
- Ensure warehouse facility and designated work area remain clean; practice good housekeeping habits that promote a healthy, safe work environment
- Safely operate motorized forklift and standard warehouse equipment; conduct daily checkpoint inspections for proper and safe operation.
- Inspect products for defects and damages
- Other job duties as assigned
Education/Certification/Licenses
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 3-5 years previous warehouse lead experience
- Hazmat Certified
