JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITON TITLE: Surveillance Observer

DEPARTMENT: Surveillance

SUPERVISED BY: Surveillance Shift Lead

DAYS/HOURS: 8-hour shifts: Working Grave Shift is "MANDATORY" including "ROTATIONAL SHIFTS, WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS", based on the needs of the department due to the nature of 24-Hour Casino Industry. Applicants unable to work the required shifts will be rejected. ($1.00 Grave Differential Pay provided.)

SHIFT: To be determined in a 24-hour industry

SALARY: $20.00 hour

START DATE: ASAP

Location: Casino Pauma, Pauma Valley, CA

SUMMARY:

This position will ensure adherence with all regulatory requirements through observation via the surveillance CCTV System.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Observe and report on all areas under surveillance
  • Assure compliance with internal control standards
  • Assure compliance with N.I.G.C. standards and Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Identify cheating activities, undesirables, pilferage and embezzlement.
  • Report and properly document all infractions and or criminal activity immediately to Shift Lead.
  • Observe, report, and record Casino activity through the utilization of CCTV equipment.
  • Perform special functions as assigned by the Shift Lead or Surveillance Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • History of prior job longevity; good tenure with no more than two jobs in five years unless progressive growth within the same company is preferred.
  • *Seeking mature-minded applicants who are looking for long-term employment in the field of Surveillance.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to perform simple math calculations.
  • Able to operate a keyboard.
  • Able to sit for a long periods of time; watch a video monitor and work in a confined setting.
  • Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Able to work in an environment that contains excessive noise, stress and smoke.
  • Able to learn all aspects of asset protection and casino operations.
  • Able to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and taking effective action.

Applicant must have a high school diploma.Applicants also must be able to obtain and maintain State and Tribal licensing certifications. Any combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactory perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position. Must pass a pre-employment drug test, and background/fingerprint check. All Gaming Commission employees are subject to random drug testing.
