Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct maintenance & millwright technicians, prioritize and assign daily work orders.
- Oversee the mechanical integrity of equipment, machinery, vehicles or facility, develop and implement programs and practices to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance cost.
- Maximize performance by utilizing a proactive preventative maintenance program.
- Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activity and / or project activity with Operations and/or Engineering.
- Determine the most cost effective approach for reliability and longevity of equipment and systems while achieving all CHS safety and compliance expectations.
- Determine the root cause of premature equipment/machinery failure.
- Communicate and assist the Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator with areas the maintenance department is responsible for or affected by.
- Ensure all work practices and equipment performs to CHS safety standards.
- Facilitate proper training for maintenance personnel.
- Maintain critical parts inventory.
- Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns.
- Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
Additional Qualifications
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in maintenance and repair in a production setting
- Currently, or have the ability to obtain Class A CDL
- Previous mechanical, welding, and/or fabrication experience
- Ability to work extended hours to meet business demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: This includes base wage and may consist of other earnings depending upon position within CHS, consisting of bonuses, incentives, commissions, merit pay. This position may be an opportunity for promotion.
