Job description

The In Reach and Engagement Supervisor provides oversight to a team of In Reach and Engagement Specialists who provide education and support to persons who have expressed a desire to transition from an institution to community living.  This position ensures compliance with in reach functions as listed in the DHHS In Reach/Transition and Diversion Manual. This position is also responsible for staff development and training, monitoring productivity, and ensuring clinically responsible community transitions based on best practices and integrated case planning.

This position will allow the successful candidate the ability to work remote certain days of the week. The employee will also be required to come into the office closest to their home office location, one [1] day a week as approved by their supervisor. This position will also require travel within the communities Alliance serves as needed.

 Responsibilities & Duties

Supervise In Reach and Engagement Specialists and Ensure Compliance with In Reach functions 

  • Work with Human Resources, TCL and CHWB leadership to maintain and retain a highly qualified and well-trained workforce.  
  • Ensure staff are well trained in and comply with all Dept of Justice Settlement requirements, organization and department policies, procedures, business processes, and workflows.
  • Actively establish and promote a positive, diverse, and inclusive working environment that builds trust.  
  • Ensure all staff are treated with respect and dignity
  • Ensure standards are transparent and applied consistently, impartially, and ethically over time and across all staff members.
  • Work to resolve conflicts and disputes, ensuring that all participants are given a voice.
  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in line with department and organization goals and vision. Routinely monitor productivity and compliance with in reach functions as set forth by DHHS.
  • Effectively communicate feedback and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff and support a learning environment to advance team skills and professional development.
  • Cultivate and encourage efforts to expand cross-team collaboration and partnership.
  • Ensure In Reach and Engagement Specialists are current on best practice approaches, community resources and provider network

Collaborate with Providers and External Stakeholders

  • Develop strong working relationships with providers and external stakeholders by scheduling ongoing opportunities to share feedback and collaborate.
  • Participate in local, regional, and state meetings as required.
  • Exercise conflict resolution skills to appropriately resolve issues with providers and external stakeholders.

Maintain Documentation

  • Monitor completion of documentation in all internal systems to ensure notes and data is entered timely and accurately.   
  • Ensure compliance with timeliness and accuracy of all data entry into TCL state platforms and resolve any deficiencies

 

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field and five (5) years of experience with the population served.

OR

Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience with the population served.

NC Peer Support Specialist Certification or National Family Peer Support Certification upon hire. 

Preferred:

Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Medicaid basic, enhanced MHSUD, and waiver benefits plans
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills essential, including conflict management and resolution.
  • High level of diplomacy and discretion is required to effectively negotiate and resolve issues with minimal assistance.
  • Knowledge of and skilled in the use of Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Strong problem solving, negotiation, arbitration and conflict resolution skills are essential to balance the needs of both internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to understand macro and micro level planning, maintaining both the big picture and seeing that the details are covered.  
  • Detail oriented, able to organize multiple tasks and priorities. Work activities quickly change according to mandated changes and changing priorities within the department. Must be able to change the focus of his/her activities to meet changing priorities.

  • Ability to adapt and shift focus according to mandated changes and changing priorities within the department.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to assess and conduct safe home visits 
  • Knowledge of regulations and statutes specific to 1915(b) and (c) waiver services including licensure type required for facility-based services, and staffing and supervision requirements 

Salary Range

$62,100.00 to $103,500.00/Annually  

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
