Queens Community House (QCH)

We are seeking a qualified Summer Youth Employment Program Aid (SYEP) who will perform a variety of administrative and programmatic duties. Overall duties include providing support to our department staff and participants and assisting in daily program needs aligned with our agency’s administrative activities. They include but are not limited to, fieldwork, data entry, and outreach to participants and work sites. Additionally, they will assist with program participants' enrollment and communication. The program goals include: developing young peoples’ work readiness and social and job skills in work environments, providing safe work environments, adhering to agency policies and procedures, providing integral support services across programs in the unit, and managing programmatic recordkeeping.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Uphold QCH’s mission to provide individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities and support QCH values of diversity, respect, and mutual responsibility.
  • Understand, adhere, and enforce YES Department program expectations, policies, and protocols as laid out by Program Director/Coordinator.
  • Participate in pre-program training, and ongoing professional development and coaching as requested.
  • Assist with program enrollment, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate to DYCD regulations.
  • Assist with smooth operation of mandatory participant orientations, some facilitation maybe be required.
  • Reviewing all collected required documentation for accuracy for SYEP annual audit report.
  • Assist in quality control for annual program audit.
  • Represent the agency professionally to all stakeholders.
  • Other assignments, as requested.


Qualifications:
____________________________________________________________
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to implement positive youth development frameworks
  • Knowledge of various computer programs
  • Excellent communication, organizational and verbal skills
  • Must be able to clear background screening requirements associated with the program

PREFERRED skills/experience/qualities:

  • Some college education
  • Minimum of one year of classroom management
  • Minimum of two years of in planning and facilitation workshops for youths
