This position performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor necessary for the maintenance of the facilities, grounds, and highways within the Carver County Public Works Highway System.
This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Part 382 and 49 CFR Part 40.
Performs traffic control functions on Highway Maintenance projects.
May operate light and some heavy equipment to perform construction and maintenance of highways and grounds.
May serve as relief drivers for Highway Maintenance Workers.
Performs manual labor to maintain the appearance of the highways, grounds, buildings and facilities.
Assists with minor maintenance, construction, and repair of facilities, grounds, and highways.
Performs truck driver safety inspections as required by Minnesota Law.
Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
At least 18 years of age.
Available to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on a regular basis. There may be times when the work shift may change because of special projects/needs.
Availability to work more than 8 hours in a day due to special projects/needs.
A Valid Minnesota Class B Driver's License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Availability to work as a seasonal snow plow operator.
