POSITION TITLE: SEASONAL HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE WORKERS (2 positions)
DATE OF CLOSING: Open until filled (expected start date May/June, 2024)
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Superintendent
HOURS: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary, as this is temporary/seasonal work subject to workload, contractor’s operations, and weather conditions. Employment duration subject to workload, 3 months or longer based on availability.
POSITION FOCUS: Highway Maintenance Work
STARTING WAGE: $17.96
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Highway Department maintenance crew with the following:
1. Performing manual labor duties for road maintenance projects to conform with established maintenance standards set by supervisors and the road and bridge department.
2. Performing related work as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally under unfavorable weather conditions. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Class D Minnesota Driver’s License. At least 18 years of age on the date of employment. Subject to criminal background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and motor coordination are required for the variety of jobs performed.
