Responsibilities

In this internship, you will assist in all of MoFA’s preparatory work associated with installing multiple art exhibitions. The scope of work will include, but is not limited to, framing, basic mount construction, installation of both 2D and 3D works, installation of interactive exhibition components, label production, and vinyl installation. You may also help with events, front desk staffing, and general museum maintenance. You will report directly to MoFA’s preparator and help support the rest of the museum team as needed. The internship will total 120 hours over a six-week period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic arithmetic
• Proficiency using the following tools: level, tape measure, drill, and hammer
• An understanding of basic construction materials and methods
• Ability to follow directions and ask for clarification as needed
• Ability to carry 30lbs and climb a ladder
• Possesses a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, and excellent time management

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of coursework in sculpture or technical theatre practices
• Basic woodworking skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative software (InDesign and Illustrator specifically)
• Experience creating vector graphics

Anticipated Salary Range

Position is expected to pay $14 per hour
