INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This is a full-time, 12-week internship from late May to mid-August 2024. Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday — approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Current 1L’s or current 2L’s will be considered for this Law Clerk position.
COMPENSATION: $35 per hour
LOCATION: On-site at our office in Omaha, Nebraska.
PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATION:
ES&S views the Internship Program as a professional learning opportunity. Interns will be held to the same professional standards as all full-time employees. Interns are involved in division, team, and project meetings, take on tasks that impact department goals, and learn new skills.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Law Clerk who will be responsible for performing legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting the legal team with various administrative tasks.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience in legal research and writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
JOB FUNCTIONS: The Law Clerk responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, conducting legal research, preparing legal memorandum, conducting reviews of, and drafting responses to, requests for proposals, managing the contract database, preparing legal forms, gathering and preparing discovery responses, contract reviews, contract edits, contract amendments, and preparing responses to public record requests.
