The OperationsServices department is looking for an intern to join their FacilityConstructionSupport team!
About the Operation Services Department:
Operations Services is a central service provider to advance and support core business needs as well as overall agency goals and objectives. These services include maintenance of the automotive fleet, dining services, general staff support services, centralized maintenance support of our facilities and to ensure the safety, fire protection and occupational health for the public we serve and our employees.
Responsibilities:
- Work on process improvements utilizing Microsoft's products such as SharePoint, Flows, PowerApps, and Power BI
- Update inventory of the entire FCSD motor vehicle fleet, materials, tools and equipment, which will include working closely with our FM-3 equipment supervisor and travelling to the various facilities where we keep our vehicles
- Data entry of completed work orders into Maximo/RDMS for Sign Shop
- Assisting with Sick Absence Control Program memos, overtime, and financial reports
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)
- Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
- Interest in public service and/or transportation
- Willingness to learn
Desired:
- Experience with Microsoft Lists, Power BI, PowerApps, and Access
- Previous experience with non-MMIS computerized maintenance management systems (such as Enviance, Maximo, Asset Works M5, etc.)
- Ability to interact effectively with various levels of both Port Authority staff and the general public.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize assignments
- Ability to understand and integrate customer service needs into day-to-day decision-making
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Internship Details:
- The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan
- The internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23
- This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)
- The format is expected to be fully in-person
- The hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)
