MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN
Job Overview: Spirax Sarco USA is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering intern! The Manufacturing Engineering intern will gain hands-on experience in a machine shop environment, assisting with standardizing and documenting machining processes. You will conduct time studies to optimize efficiency and productivity, working closely with machine operators and the senior manufacturing engineer to implement process improvements. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world manufacturing challenges and contribute to enhancing the overall effectiveness of the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with machine operators to standardize machining processes through the creation of standardized operating procedures and work instructions.
- Conduct time studies on various machining processes.
- Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Interface with machine operators and the senior manufacturing engineer to father feedback, propose recommendations, and implement process improvements, while documenting changes and ensuring clear communication.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data analysis and creating reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with machine operators and the senior manufacturing engineer.
- Courses/experience with CAD, CAM, Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics are a plus

Duration: This is a 3-month in-person Summer Internship position in Blythewood, South Carolina. This position is a full-time, 40 hour/week internship with flexibility to be part time depending on the candidate.
