The Civil Engineering Internwill support the Development and Construction of utility-scale Solar, Onshore Wind, and Battery Storage Projects. This internship offers a hands-on experience in supporting early to mid-stage development projects by conducting thorough due diligence to identify key design risks. The intern will aid in preparing civil quantity estimates and offer guidance on estimating sediment basin requirements for projects. Additionally, involvement in reviewing civil designs to ensure adherence to site constraints, standards, and best practices, along with assisting in timely responses to RFIs on construction projects.
Responsibilities:

• Support with due diligence on early to mid-stage development projects, in order to identify key design risks
• Support with scoping, tendering, and managing topographic and ALTA surveys, hydrology studies, and geotechnical surveys
• Assist with preparing civil quantity estimates for use in financial models. Develop guidance for estimating sediment basin requirements for projects
• Review civil designs for projects, ensuring that site constraints are factored in and applicable standards and best practices are followed
• Assist with responding to RFIs on construction projects to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution to roadway, drainage, geotechnical, and structural engineering issues

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an accredited US university program, pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
• Proficiency with MS Office is required
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS software is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Enjoys working in multidisciplinary project teams in a dynamic environment
• Willing to occasionally travel to project sites in development and/or construction

This is a full-time 12-week summer internship starting at the end of May in our Chicago or Austin office.
