Soccer Shots Austin is hiring a Summer Camp Coordinator in the greater Austin area for our weekly camps (Mid-May - August) for children ages 3-8.

POSITION DETAILS
Our Summer Camps run Monday - Friday every week from June - August at public parks and childcare centers in the greater Austin area (locations below). We offer both half-day (8:15-12:15) and full day (8:15-4:00) options available throughout the season with some end times varying by location. We are looking for a team member who can ideally commit from mid-May through the first two weeks in August (with some flexibility pending Director approval). Additionally, they must be able to attend Summer Camp orientation held on a weekend TBD at the end of May/early June.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Summer Camp Coordinator will be responsible for running safe, fun, and successful camps. They will prepare weekly supplies, crafts, and prizes according to determined curricula; finalize coach schedules (including call -outs and subs); maintain partner, parent, and employee communication; and monitor coach quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is organized, fun, and engaging, fits our Core Values, and meets the following criteria:
  • Prior experience working with children: Must be able to engage and interact with 3-8 year olds and have experience doing so.
  • Prior experience managing: The Coordinator will lead, manage and hold accountable a team of 8-12 camp coaches.
  • Responsible and detail-oriented: In addition to leading some soccer sessions, the coordinator is expected to complete all preparations of supplies, crafts, rosters and schedules for each weekly camp. They will lead communication with coaches, parents, and partners; and focus on maintaining a safe and fun environment, while holding camp coaches accountable to Soccer Shots' high standards of excellence.
  • Reliable transportation: The Coordinator is responsible for driving to various sites and must have a safe and reliable car. They must also have a clean driving record and auto insurance.
  • Team player: The Coordinator works with the same group of people each week for hours at a time. They must display great communication, dependability, and teamwork in order to ensure a safe, fun, and enjoyable camp session.
  • Soccer enthusiast: Soccer experience is preferred; however, if a candidate works well with children and has some familiarity playing the game then that will work.
  • Background check cleared: The Camp Coordinator must pass a Federal & State Background Check and FBI Fingerprinting.
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified: The Camp Coordinator must be certified in CPR/First Aid or willing to get certified.

We provide our coaches with expert-approved, age-appropriate curriculum each day. All gear, uniform, and supplies required for camp are provided.
COMPENSATION
The Summer Camp Coordinator will be paid hourly at a rate of $20 per hour for on-field coaching, site lead responsibilities, and in-office administrative duties.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
  • Position functions frequently in an outside sports environment which may include temperatures of extreme heat.
  • Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40 minute increments per camp coaching session. Position requires use of hands, arms, legs and feet and may include lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion. Moderate gymnasium like noises are associated with this position as well as excellent vision skills (with or without correction).

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
