The purpose of the position is to coordinate summer youth programs. This is accomplished by supervising staff and activities; planning activities and events; developing schedules; and coordinating publications. Other duties include providing training to staff.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates program activities by developing and planning marketing materials and events; developing and distributing staff publications; conducting or coordinating staff training; updating administration on site activities; and developing staff orientation.
- Plan special events by arranging speakers and programs; reviewing and monitoring budgets; and marketing events and promotions.
- Supervises staff by assigning tasks and responsibilities; arranging athletic competitions, dance and theatre arts programs, and displays; monitoring staff time and attendance; and reviewing and approving weekly program scheduling.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from accredited college or university in in education, recreation, or related fields
- Two years of experience teaching or working with youth programs.
Supplemental Information
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected and appointed officials
- Skill in the operation and use of standard office software which includes databases and presentation programs, along with standard Microsoft products
