Job Summary
PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Projects and Construction (P&C) Environmental Projects Team
This job involves working as a hybrid field specialist / office support in our Environmental Projects and Services (EP&S) group. We support the civil and electrical groups with the demolition and construction of inside plant sites alone with the outside plant components. This role will spend some time in the field and other days in the office.
This position will be hybrid, but most days will be spent on site or in the office.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
PSE&G EP&S is seeking one summer intern to work in the Environmental Projects and Services Department in South Plainfield to assist with environmental support for ET&D and utility activities. The position will support the Environmental Associate Project Manager, the Senior Environmental Specialists or Environmental Support Specialists with general administrative tasks, program support and process improvement activities.
The position's responsibilities include assisting the Environmental Projects and Services Group in developing and maintaining documentation related to environmental compliance including: 1.) assistance with preparation of project environmental plans; 2.) assistance in the development of spreadsheets and databases for the tracking of regulatory and compliance data; 3.) assistance to the Project Manager and Senior Environmental Specialist to organize and file shipping manifests; 4.) assist with the drafting of environmental guidance documents; 5.) interact with other company departments, contractors and consultants to support environmental activity; 6.) prepare charts, presentations and process flow diagrams, 6) Permit applications, 7) Biodivseirty initiatives and 8) Remediation support. Candidate should have the desire to work in the environmental field focused on operations and compliance.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Science or Engineering. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
Preferred:
- 3.0 GPA
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental, Sustainability, Geology or similar
- The Applicant must have good written and oral communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, be well organized, client focused, and demonstrate teamwork.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and Power Point is needed.
All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
