Job Summary: The SUD Services Peer Specialist provides direct linkage services to pregnant and parenting females. The DSHS Linkage Services Specialist provides outreach, screening, intervention, case coordination, individual and group education, data collection and clerical duties as assigned by the SUD Services Peer Specialist. (Grant funded position).
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
- Provides direct services to participants which may include community and street outreach, evidenced based education and information distribution, referrals to community resources, and case coordination under the direction of the SUD Services Peer Specialist.
- Coordinates with Community Partners to improve services for program participants. This coordination may include presentations for community partners to explain program services, coordinated street outreach efforts, health fairs, and tours of facilities which may serve participants.
- Follows-up with participants who are disengaged or unsuccessfully discharged, via phone calls, home visits and visits to other settings where clients can be found.
- Coordinates with all local domestic violence and housing shelters which serve the target population.
- Participates in or creates at least one Community Advisory Board, Committee, or Local Work Group, designated to improving the lives of the target population.
- Maintains a printed regional service directory, consisting of resources that align with grant requirements, which can be provided to participants, and shared with the community members.
- Provides a minimum of one hour per week of Social Support Group activities, for past and current participants.
- Distributes individual and community level risk reduction education, tools, and materials that are applicable to the target population.
- Uses electronic resources in collecting, gathering and documenting data for reporting purposes as outlined in the grant.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; and
- Recovery Coach who has received system agency 46-hour Recovery Coach Training; or
- Community Health Worker Certification or Promotora Certification, or
- A person with lived experience in parenting and recovery form substance use disorder and/or indigenous to the target population; and
- One year of experience in one or more of the following with the target population: patient navigation, case management, outreach and prevention, substance use disorder treatment or intervention, working with individuals who have been incarcerated, or homeless individuals.
- Community Health Worker Certification required, or applicant must be in the process of completing certification within 6 months of hire.
- Current JPS recognized CPR/BLS Certification and must be maintained throughout employment. May be obtained subsequent to hire.
- Current Driver's License in good standing.
- 1 plus years of experience working in maternal/child health.
- Peer Support or Recovery Coach Training
