About the GO Project
The GO Project helps New York City public school students thrive in the earliest stages of their education through year-round academic, social-emotional, and family support.
GO Project is based in NYC and all positions for GO Summer 2024 will be in-person. Locations are in lower Manhattan and Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Position Description
The Family Engagement Associate (FEA) supports family engagement and outreach. The Family Engagement Associate will work to ensure students and families are successfully participating in the program this summer. The FEA serves as the main point of contact for families and ensures families feel connected to the GO Project.
Qualifications
- Develop relationships with students and families by greeting all families at arrival.
- Effectively monitor and maintain a caseload of students/families by conducting phone outreach to absent students, supporting families to attend, and by escalating cases as needed.
- Manage student attendance by entering student attendance into the salesforce database daily and related notes.
- Manage late arrivals and pick-ups by calling families and supervising students.
- Monitor front desk operations.
- Support with ensuring that there is an orderly program Check-In.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to work in the United States.
- Strong computer skills, including navigating Google Sheets, Google Docs, Notion, and more.
- Demonstrates multilingual fluency (in English and Spanish or in English and Mandarin) with experience translating written documents and strong spoken fluency.
- Experience working in settings with groups of children ages 5 to 10 (elementary school) or 11 - 14 (middle school).
- Provide support during arrival and student breakfast.
- Must be available on all of the GO Summer days without any prior scheduled commitments during the hours of training or program operation.
- Must be available to participate in all relevant training, team meetings, and huddles.
Additional Requirements
All staff pass a background check and provide a medical clearance form signed by a medical professional prior to training.
Program Dates and Training:
All dates and training sessions are mandatory. Please note that absences are extremely disruptive to the learning process, please ensure you are able to attend all program days. All training sessions are mandatory and cannot be rescheduled although the exact times are TBD.
In-Person Training: 6/27, 6/28*
Summer Program Dates: 7/1 through 8/2
*additional training may be required as part of the training schedule.
Typical Schedule
The typical schedule for this role is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 1:30 pm
5 hour work shift with 30-min break
Compensation:
Starting salary for this position is $20 per hour for 25 hours per week over 6 weeks.
