Job Description
The primary purpose of PORT Health Services is to provide or arrange access to a full continuum of care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, substance abuse, mental health and psychiatric disorders. The continuum of care provides a wide array of services, which includes prevention, outpatient, residential, and transitional programs for adults, adolescents and family members. More specifically services include but are not limited to screenings, evaluations and assessments, habilitative supports and therapies, case management, emergency interventions, day treatment, medical detoxification, medication management, referrals and education. The organization meets all requirements to be designated as a Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency (CABHA) to provide residential care and day treatment services for dually diagnosed adolescents identified as needing extended out of home placement. The program is designed to address the behavioral, emotional, environmental, academic and/or vocational needs of the clients.
Primary Purpose of Position:
To help maintain a therapeutic and safe group environment and attending the welfare and basic needs of clients. To provide informal counseling, involving behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients. Employee will also participate with clients in NA/AA meetings, adventure trips, social and educational outings and provide transportation to appointments.
Work Schedule:
This position will maintain an average work schedule of 40 hours per week. Flexibility will be expected depending on client and Program’s need. In the event of inclement weather, the employee may be required to remain on the unit beyond their normal workday.
Required Minimum Training: Graduation from high school or equivalent
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Current NC Drivers License required.
