Job Description
We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor ***$2500.00 Sign-on Bonus*** to join our team! You will be responsible for implementing effective treatment plans to clients in an individual or group setting.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel and advise individuals or groups with Substance Abuse problems
- Develop and implement individual treatment plans
- Establish treatment goals and milestones with clients
- Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties
- Educate families and groups on Substance Abuse treatments and prevention programs
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Position Requirements:
The most qualified candidates will possess the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must be registered with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Certification board - applicants who are not registered will not be considered for employment (LCAS, LCAS-A, LPC, LCSW or CADC). LCAS preferred.
- Experience treating opiate-addicted patients is not a requirement but is preferred.
- Candidate must be willing to start early in the morning, as work hours start at 5:00 AM.
- If recovering, three years of continuous verifiable abstinence is required.
