Job description

Our subscription base is the foundation of our business, and this role is an exciting opportunity to utilise your life science sales experience to play a critical role in driving growth in this area.  The role will report into the Regional Subscriptions Manager and will involve directly developing and closing your own book of business as well as strong collaboration with account managers (AMs) and product teams to deliver on total subscription targets for the assigned territory.

As part of the Life Science & Healthcare sales team responsible for the Clarivate subscription business, experience of selling to Drug Discovery and Development and a strong understanding of the Pharma landscape is essential.

This position is hybrid with 2-3 days on site located at any of our US offices

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments   

  • Minimum of 3 years direct sales experience in the life science industry
  • Prior experience of subscription new business sales and renewal management is essential

  • A self-starter who is not afraid of taking initiative and managing an account through the renewal cycle
  • Persistent and motivated to overachieve against a target
  • Great organization and time management skills
  • General knowledge and understanding of utilizing SFDC
  • The ability to work well within a team environment
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer workflows and priorities and translate these into opportunities
  • Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and time management skills

What will you be doing in this role?   

  • Meet and exceed personal sales target
  • Directly negotiate and close most renewals in the territory and partner with AMs to ensure closure of our largest contracts
  • Directly negotiate and secure required price increase on renewals
  • Grow new business subscriptions through identifying and managing up-sell and cross-sell opportunity at point of renewal
  • Successful completion of continuous enablement programme to meet requirements of role
  • Manage renewal process and total subscription opportunities in CRM
  • Provide accurate weekly forecasts for territory total subscription business
  • Build strong relationships with territory AMs and Product team

Hours of Work   

Core business hours in your time zone with the flexibility to support global clients in other time zones as needed. This is a hybrid role that can be performed at an of our US offices 2-3x/week.
