Our client is looking to add an experienced Subrogation Specialistas an independent contractor.

The primary responsibility of the Subrogation Specialist is to perform claim investigation, valuation, negotiation and settlement of assigned subrogation recovery claims. These claims will range in complexity. The majority of the claims involve commercial transportation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage an inventory of 100-125 claim files and make consistent contact with identified third parties to achieve gross recoveries of $100,000 or more per month
- Review, analyze, and process claim documents and inquiries related to first party physical damage claims, cargo, property and workers’ compensation
- Provide assistance and work collaboratively with client to accurately prepare claims documentation
- Investigate, analyze, determine potential liability, and effectively settle with adverse parties
- Properly assess the cause of action, recoverable damages, liability and expense exposures.
- Present demands to the adverse third party and ensure the effective, timely, and accurate payment of these demands
- Maintain regular contact and active follow-up to negotiate settlements with third parties to include approximately 30-40 calls and e-mail communications per day to drive settlement demands/negotiations.
- Negotiate and settle claims on behalf of clients within authority, at the earliest possible point to bring cases to final disposition.
- Maintain a current diary for each claim assigned
- Establish and maintain professional relationships
- Process all subrogation claim assignments within 1 business day of receipt
- Handle an appropriate referral for any file requiring Department of Insurance or Legal Counsel involvement
- Remains abreast of new case law and statutes affecting subrogation.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years work experience in a claims as an adjuster.
- Prior experience with multi-lines commercial coverage. Prior work experience in transportation claims is a plus.

- Demonstrate professionalism by treating internal and external clients professionally at all times
