Organizational Unit Overview
The mission of the Pirate Academic Success Center is to provide academic success services for ECU students and to assist students in achieving their academic goals.
Job Duties
The Student Success Communications Administrator will manage the operations of centralized student communications, chatbot systems, early alert, and texting platforms for the university. This position serves within the Pirate Academic Success Center in Academic Affairs at the university. The Student Success Communications Administrator reports directly to the Director of the Pirate Academic Success Center and is a member of the PASC leadership team.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership (30%)
Develop and monitor a comprehensive communication plan focused on Student Success. Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and performance utilizing communication platforms. Develop, analyze, and lead strategy around reports of student performance derived from the early alert system. Implement communication interventions, nudging campaigns, and other initiatives to improve Student Success. Member of campus communications team to share information, develop system communication plans, and monitor progress across participating units.
Systems Oversight (40%)
Serve as the primary lead for early alert and texting initiatives. Collaborate with ECU IT staff and success services leadership. Maintain and update chatbot system, knowledge base, and texting platform in partnership with campus offices. Update and maintain university early alert system. Monitor effectiveness and prepare reports for success services leadership. Plan and execute nudge campaigns, surveys, and data-driven communications. Collect and report data regarding communication plans, nudges, and surveys. Implement and maintain processes to measure the success of texting campaigns and early alert systems by tracking metrics using data. Train campus constituents on early alert systems best practice protocols.
Communication Coordination (30%)
Oversee daily administration, including scheduling and timely delivery of messaging campaigns. Communicate with the campus community about utilization of early alerts systems and provide quarterly training on best practices. Compose messages and nudges for Student Success. Make recommendations to improve messaging systems and campaigns to campus leadership. Establish and maintain relationships with academic departments and enrollment partners. Develop and oversee student messaging campaigns for ECU departments. Work collaboratively with key enrollment partners and campus departments. Serves on the Student Academic Success Services leadership team.
This position is contingent upon available funding.
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Demonstrated ability to manage technical systems including account management, coordinating with central ITCS regarding data integration, understanding of data management and manipulation, basic logic within data manipulation, excellent excel skills, and ability to follow system administrator best practices.
