SALINE AREA SCHOOLS STUDENT SERVICES
OFFICE ASSISTANT
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Student Services Director, to provide a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and clerical support, communicating information to WISD and Saline Area Schools employees, students, parents and others as required, and to assist in ensuring compliance of IDEA and MARSE rules and Saline Area Schools activities with legal, administrative and Saline Area Schools policy requirements. The position is a year-round position.
Essential Functions:
- Generate and manage accountable student records and program data in Power school, TIENET/POWER SCHOOL SPECIAL PROGRAMS (PSSP).
- Prepare, submit, verify and certify student/program data submissions for required state reports.
- Manage and track the Student Services budget, purchase orders, income, and other account transactions.
- Maintain and document instances of behavior interventions and suspensions for students with disabilities
- Process record requests and maintain student files and records
- Process billing requests as assigned by the Director of Student Services
- Coordinate programs for students who qualify for McKinney Vento in collaboration with WISD and Student Services Director
- Develop guidance documents for students services staff such as phone lists, IEP record reviews, and 30-day calendar
- Maintain current data and generate reports from the MEDICAID staff Pool System
- Handle telephone calls, emails, and fax communications.
- Must demonstrate computer experience and technology skills using Microsoft Excel and Word, New World, Red Rover, PowerSchool, PSSP.
- Coordinates approval of attendance, para-educator absences, and time clock hours for Liberty School staff.
- Attend Saline Area Schools meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Possess interpersonal and judgemental skills necessary to work with students, parents, staff and the public.
- Able to meet deadlines and submit reports in a timely manner.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of Student Services and Saline Area Schools.

Travel Requirements
Limited travel to and from meetings may be required.

- Works in standard office and school building environments.
- Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
Qualification Profile
Hence providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Graduation from high school.
- College level coursework in business, word processing, and office procedures preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with pupil accounting and/or special education records preferred
- Successful experience with office management in related area preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $41,810 - $48,912 depending on experience.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
