Junior Achievement of South Florida
Part time: 8:30 – 5:00 pm, (flexible) Monday – Friday, * 10 hours per week
Seasonal: March 25th thru August 2nd.

Pay rate: $30. Per hour

Summary:
What you will do:
- Prepare high school students for a summer internship application process, including resume writing, interviewing skills, professional communication, and attendance.
- Conduct virtual coaching sessions, assess high school students' interests, skills, and career aspirations to guide them in selecting suitable internships.
- Coordinate and attend virtual interviews between interns and host organizations to ensure a smooth matching process.
- Maintain detailed records of student participation, performance, interactions, and feedback for program evaluation and improvements.
- Ensure that high school students complete their surveys during their internship to provide immediate feedback on their experiences.
- Collect and manage all necessary student documents to ensure compliance with legal and program requirements, aid in onboarding, introductions to the workplace culture, and initial training sessions to ensure a seamless transition into their internship roles.
- Verify timesheets for accuracy, guiding them in proper documentation of their internship hours.
- Conduct brief weekly check-in sessions with students to monitor progress, address challenges.
- Provide on-site visits to internship locations and conduct regular check-ins to monitor the student's progress, offer support and encouragement.
- Send reminders to students about upcoming coursework due dates.
- Maintain familiarity with child labor laws to ensure internship compliance, safeguarding a safe and lawful work environment for students.
- Encourage intern participation in workshops or group sessions relevant to young workers.
- Act as a liaison between students, internship providers, and schools to ensure a smooth transition and maximize the learning experience for students.
- Offer constructive feedback on performance and assist students in setting and achieving personal and professional development goals.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, education, or similar field is preferred.
- Experience working with students in an educational or mentoring capacity is required.
- Prior experience in counseling, coaching, or advising students is required.
- Knowledge of child labor laws and internship requirements.
- Commitment to staying updated with career development best practices.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and occasionally required to reach, bend, lift, or climb.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Some local travel is required.
