Duties:
- Assist current MTech TRIO students in identifying barriers to their Academic Success, develop an individualized plan to eliminate barriers, and strengthen study skills such as time management, notetaking, and preparing for tests.
- Work directly with students to explore effective study strategies for specific courses, communicate regularly with students to assess their academic progress and modify study strategies as needed.
- Support TRIO students on academic probation or readmitted students in developing and updating success plans -meeting with them on a regular basis
- Collaborate with Professional Advisors, Faculty Advisors, Disability Services, Tutoring Services, and additional campus resources to provide wrap-around services for students
- Work with EAB Navigate system to keep detailed notes on student meetings and find students who have been identified through Academic Early Alert
- Follow up with students based on alerts, progress reports, and faculty and staff referrals in student success collaborative case management database.
- Develop and present workshops and lessons for students about college readiness, Academic Success strategies, and
- "college knowledge" and maintain working partnerships with key stakeholders for these workshops and lessons
- Assess effectiveness of coaching sessions and workshops, implementing modifications as needed
- Maintain collegial relationships with faculty, academic advisors/coordinators, and other departments and refer students to additional resources as needed
- Bachelor's degree
- Willingness to learn EAB Navigate and other student software management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adhere to FERPA regulations
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-pace environment and handle competing demands.
- Ability to listen effectively, work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to chaperone student field trips.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak event times and annual performance reporting season
