Frankenmuth Insurance is seeking a motivated college student to join our Claims Property team for a summer Student Associate opportunity. This is a remote position from May 20th - August 9th, 2024.
Position overview:
As a Student Associate in Claims Property at Frankenmuth Insurance, you will have a chance to gain hands on experience assisting the Claims team on a variety of projects. Primarily you will have the opportunity to provide support to our Claims team.
Qualifications:
- Students should be currently enrolled and entering their freshman-senior year in college
- Able to communicate effectively
- Ability to organize data, manage multiple tasks and make decisions independently
Under direct supervision and following standard procedures, provides support by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Claims:
1. Follows corporate policies, procedures, and fair claims handling practices
2. Under supervision, investigates claims to determine validity and extent of liability, including:
3. Obtains information necessary to properly investigate and evaluate each case by corresponding with agents, insureds, claimants, witnesses and others
4. Reviews and evaluates documentation, including applications, reports, and statements
5. Monitors appropriate claim outcomes through self-audit process
6. Delivers superior customer service to policyholders and agents, ensuring appropriate and timely resolution of claims service issues
7. Ensures legal, regulatory and fair claims handling compliance
8. Sets or recommends reserves based on results of claim investigation.
9. Within defined authority, manages, evaluates and concludes claims. Prepares and maintains claim reports.
10. May interact with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, and other service providers, including:
11. Conducts in-depth interviews and/or scene inspections
12. Attends settlement conferences and/or trials
13. May serve as a member of project teams, contributing to the achievement of project objectives.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
