JOB SUMMARY
The Globe is seeking a talented, energetic student to lead GGC’s college newspaper. As a the editor-in-chief, the student in this position will lead a staff of student reporters and editors to produce news content related to the campus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College.
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
- Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Successfully completed the Basic News Writing course or possess some journalism writing and reporting experience, either through The Globe or other news organizations.
- Ability to write and edit news stories
- Ability to manage other students in a high stress, deadline-oriented workplace.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of prior experience on The Globe.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all Globe members and their designated tasks.
- Organize and facilitate Globe meetings.
- Oversee the production of content for publications and manage Globe members.
- Manage The Globe¿s RSO responsibilities such as paying for the website annually, updating Campus Groups, and communicating with GGC faculty/staff/administration as needed.
- Represent The Globe and its members at social functions
- Oversee online platforms (website & social media).
