Job Summary

The Graduate Assistant will provide educationally beneficial assistance to the department of Student Health Services. This position is responsible for providing front-line service for the department and performs a variety of administrative, logistical, marketing, and educative duties for Student Health.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination - 40
Develop marketing materials and organize tabling activities for health education events, flu shot clinics, and other special events. Create graphics promoting Health Services and disease prevention. Partner with WRC, Counseling, and other departments on collaborative health events.
Administrative Support - 50
Assist with the front-line operations of the Student Health clinic, answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting and checking in visitors, and assisting with clinic inventory.
Other Duties as Assigned - 10
The Graduate Assistant performs other duties as assigned and participates in staff, committee, and other university meetings as appropriate and at the request of supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Other Required Qualifications
Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into "Additional Documents" attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week.
· Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
· Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for Graduate Assistants must be at least 6 graduate semester hours.

Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in Public Health, Nursing, or other health science field
Preferred Experience
Work experience in an office setting Experience and skill in creating marketing and educational materials using design software like Canva

ABILITIES
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment, to take initiative, and to follow through with all responsibilities and assigned tasks. This position involves handling confidential information. Graduate Assistant must be able to keep strict confidentiality.
