Job Description
Lead Marine has immediate openings for Journeymen Structural Welders in the Bremerton Shipyard Industry. Must have 5 years of navy repair/marine welding experience. Pay is dependent on skills and capability.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Multi-pass. All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW
- Heating - Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
- Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.).
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
- Ability to properly use fillet and butt weld gauges
- Must be experienced with welding carbon steel and mild steel with ceramic tape backing.
Qualifications:
- Structural welders must have at least 5 years of structural welding experience
- Must have own hood, leathers, and hand tools.
- Structural welders must be able to read and interpret welding symbols, prints, drawings, and prints.
- Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs/Naval Base Access
All Welders will be required to pass test below:
- SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) process in 2G, 3G, & 4G positions
- FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) process in 2G, 3G, & 4G positions
- GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) process
- Air Carbon Arc Gouging proficiency test
