Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess strong welding skills and knowledge of welding processes, with a focus on structural steel, skid, pallets, platform, and related equipment. As a Structural Welder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our welded components, adhering to specifications, and contributing to a strong safety culture.
Essential Functions:
- Weld, structural steel, skids, pallets, platform, and related equipment according to specifications.
- Execute Flux, Stick, TIG or MIG welding operations on finished manufactured products according to specifications.
- Possess skilled knowledge of welding processes such as GMAW and/or SMAW.
- Perform welding post-processing tasks, including grinding, polishing, and finishing.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including angle grinders, beveling machines, cut-off grinders, tape measure, levels, and torches (oxygen/acetylene & plasma).
- Read drawings and recognize basic symbols for the job application.
- Exhibit expertise in material identification, equipment utilization, welder equipment set-up, and maintenance.
- Actively participate in a strong safety culture, recognizing and mitigating hazards.
- Utilize conventional and precision measuring instruments for welding and fabrication.
- Reads, interprets, and understands production schedule and specifications to plan tasks related to work orders and determine the appropriate welding equipment.
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain welding equipment and perform regular inspections.
- Participates in safety and environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of state/federal regulations.
- Responsible and accountable for employee’s own personal safety, the safety of all co-workers, and any others the employee comes in contact.
- Collaborate with team members, fabricators, and quality control personnel to achieve project goals.
- Document work performed, materials used, and relevant production data accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Certification/Skills:
- Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to meet criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to company standards.
- Welding Certification is a plus.
Minimum Education:
- A minimum of 3+ years of welding experience.
Requirements:
· Proficient at MIG and or TIG welding processes.
· Must have 3+ years TIG/MIG welding structural components.
· Ability to produce visually acceptable welds per project code.
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
