LA CITY or AWS Certification Required.
Candidate MUST be proficient:
- Structural Welding Experience on (columns, I-beams, and other iron/steel material).
- Full penetration welding joining steel plates together.
- Dual Shield Flux Core.
- Blueprint reading + layout.
- At least 10 years of experience in welding preferred.
*Position will be mostly in the fabrication shop with occasional (as needed basis) field responsibilites for structural installation of the products welded.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and welding requirements.
- Measure and mark workpieces using templates, measuring tape, and other precision instruments.
- Operate welding equipment to weld structural components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
- Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform maintenance and repair on welding equipment as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in structural welding required (LA City or AWS).
- Proven experience as a Structural Welder.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
