Structural Steel Safety Representative

Bowman Steel, LLC is seeking an experienced and adventurous Safety Coordinator to establish a healthy and safe workplace by reducing the risk of job-related accidents in Virginia and/or Ohio USA. You will monitor operations to eliminate hazardous activities. You will implement policies to promote Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHSP) awareness. The safety coordinator should be well-versed in all EHSP dictations. Your work will be focused on prevention. Therefore, you must be diligent and analytical. You will possess a keen eye for detail and a sensitivity for potential dangers.

Must speak bilingual English/Spanish

• Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
• Review existing policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all the rules and regulations.
• Work with HR for new employee on-boarding process for safety.
• Conduct risk assessment
• Enforce preventative measures.
• Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
• Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
• Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety.

Safety Coordinator requirements and qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
• 2 years of knowledge in the Steel Erection / Construction (Preferred)
• Travel in and out of state
• 1 years of experience in report writing
• Proficient in MS Office
• Administrative duties such as filing, environmental testing, training etc.
• OSHA 510/500 training (Ideal)
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Bilingual a must – Spanish
• Bowman Steel utilizes E-Verify

Compensation: DOE

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
