Engineer II : Essential Job Responsibilities
• Works to develop designs of more complex components or overall design of simple structures.
• Completes design calculations by hand and by using various types of computer software as required.
• Utilizes and applies requirements from IBC, ASCE-7, and material-specific codes into the design and construction documents.
• Uses Revit to prepare BIM models and associated details and plan-work as part of the Contract Documents.
• Reviews and implements red-line mark-ups from reviewing engineers and project managers.
• Provides quality-control checks of one’s own work.
• Calculates and checks dimensions to verify contract documents match design.
• Capable of designing full structural systems for projects of various sizes and materials.
• Capable of completing full construction documents on small – medium sized projects.
• Completes tasks as assigned by Project Manager.
• Coordinates with clients on smaller projects from start to finish.
• Checks shop drawings and product submittals.
• Provides field observation during construction.
• Manages the construction administration process with minimal supervision.
• Works collaboratively with staff at Haines Structural Group.
• Checks shop drawings and product submittals with review from Project Manager.
• Completes tasks as assigned by Project Manager
• Trains and leads other Engineer interns and structural designers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering / Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering + (3) years of acceptable Structural Engineering experience after graduation – OR – Master of Science in Civil Engineering/ Master of Science in Architectural Engineering + (2) years of acceptable Structural Engineering experience in building design after graduation.
• Proficient in various structural analysis software.
• Proficient in REVIT structural BIM software
