Location: Fridley, MN
Responsibilities:
Help improve the latest product, which was launched less than a year ago.
Improve the Structural Design, ensuring efficiency and innovation.
This will include reviews and approving models, DWGs, and other technical definition documentation.
Manage the conceptualization of modular mechanical design, promoting streamlined processes.
Select and define structural components for the product, subsystem, and modules skid/frame.
Perform structural analysis (FEA) on piping racks, structural supports, skid, cable trays, retrieval bracket, stairs, deck, CAB, and various mechanical systems including the lifting and clamping tools.
Do the thermal analysis (CFD-Heat Transfer analysis).
Oversee computer simulations and validation work, collaborating with experts to ensure quality results.
Interface with various engineering design teams (piping, process, electrical, instrumentation) for seamless integration.
Create clear work packages for CAD teams, ensuring high-quality modeling and drafting.
Structural Design Modeling and Analysis.
Create CAD models to represent architectural or product level system design concepts, and to enable completion of various system-level computer analyses such as DVA and FEA.
Design of Structural Systems.
Apply an in-depth understanding of mechanical systems and designs for requirements of all lifecycle stages by considering the customer.
requirements in different operating environments to ensure a robust system.
Product Function Modeling, Simulation and Analysis.
Impact product design decisions through the utilization and/or interpretation of computational tools and methods that predict the capability of a product's function relative to its system, sub-system and/or component level requirements.
Requirements:
BE/ME Mechanical/Structural.
3 - 5 years of engineering experience in a similar role, with senior or lead engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Working knowledge of Structural Design of static steel structures like skid bases or heavy duty mounting and lifting structures.
Working knowledge of Canadian and US building code.
Ability to read, interpret, and decompose standards into requirements.
Ability to perform seismic & vibration analysis or define all boundary conditions for other analysts.
Experience of Hyperworks (Hypermesh, Optistruct and Radioss), LS-DYNA, ANSYS FLUENT (entry level)
Experience of CFD-Heat Transfer analysis
Experience of SAP 2000 and STAAD Pro.
P. Eng. Certification.
Experience in Engineering, Procurement and Contracting (EPC); preferably in Hydrogen, Oxygen service, Oil & Gas, Offshore equipment.
Familiarity with mechanical design of high voltage / high current electrical systems is a bonus.
Experience with PTC Creo CAD platform is a bonus.
