ROLE OVERVIEW

The Strategist plays an active role on a large roster of both retail and national initiatives for Nissan North America, from market and product analysis to sales event communication and high-profile partnerships. The Strategist will have a line of sight to many different facets of the Nissan business and should be passionate about advertising, cars, and culture, eager to learn, and ready to jump into a wide spectrum of projects.

This role provides the opportunity to work alongside seasoned strategists to grow within the discipline and take ownership of projects and tasks that have wide-reaching exposure (internally and externally). It's your chance to quickly gain expertise on a globally recognized brand, while also bringing a fresh perspective to a diverse team.

***We are open to candidates in either Nashville, TN or New York City for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research & Reporting

  • Become an expert in the competitive creative landscape, keeping both clients and internal agency stakeholders on the pulse of the latest messaging and industry news.
  • Utilize data resources to facilitate agency and client research requests and needs, as well as taking an ownership role in current and future trend reporting.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the retail creative space to help inform campaign opportunities.
  • Pull, organize, analyze and distribute various sales reports for NNA national and regional clients.

Collaboration & Implementation

  • Play an active role in briefing campaigns – From translating complex business challenges and mining for inspirational insights, to partnering with creative teams and analyzing the work, you will help guide initiatives through the entire process.
  • Serve as a research support role for deck preparation and creative brief requests.
  • Become familiar with Nissan's lineup of vehicles and their primary competitors. Work closely with Product Integration team for full view on implications within the retail world.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client's brand and their various project milestones, including qualitative and quantitative research, positioning workshops, cultural trend analysis, Brand Vision and Brand History.
  • Assist with a wide range of late-breaking client and field requests that come in on a daily basis.
  • Assist with major projects: brand campaigns, model launches, retail work, sales events, brand partnerships and CX. 
  • Help build out full campaign ecosystems while working with the wider NU team. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study (Marketing, Advertising, Communications and/or various areas of study within Humanities)
  • Less than or equal to 1 year of experience (internships count!)
  • A master storyteller in the making - able to articulate their POV strongly, take a stance and have the research to back it up.
  • A big picture thinker, naturally analytical and curious with a positive attitude.
  • Should thrive in an environment that relies on inventive and creative solutions for problem solving.
  • Tapped into culture, with the ability to detect and understand emerging trends.
  • A strong work ethic - ability to work collaboratively, effectively, proactively and seamlessly amongst an integrated agency team.
  • Superior communication (written and verbal), organizational, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Previous automotive experience and/or a passion for automotive is a major plus!

Location:

Given the nature of our Strategy team and the client assigned to this role, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to New York City or Nashville, TN, in the near future (first 60 days of employment).

The annual salary range for this role is $40,000 - $60,000 and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location and experience. Other compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.
