Job Summary:

The Sourcing Manager (Supply Chain) oversees and directs assigned sourcing activities for the business. Working closely with Supply Chain and operations, this Supply Chain professional may coordinate, organize and manage all activities involved in the sourcing, inventories and management of raw materials, consumables, parts and services, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.

· Manage Strategic Sourcing for the business. Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.

· Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.

· Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

· Maintains alignment with sales and operations to assure proper inventories of materials and supplies.

· Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies.

· Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.

· Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.

· Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of Supply Chain and profitability for the company.

· Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.

· Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.

· Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.

· Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.

· Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

· Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.

· Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers, vendors, suppliers, shippers, and external customers.

· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.

· Understanding of business and management principles.

· Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

· At least three years of experience in a related field required.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
