Position Summary
The role is responsiblefor Buckman North America’s chemical spend and is a leader in setting and executing procurement strategies. The key focus will be on leveraging spend, negotiating with suppliers & utilizing Strategic Sourcing, category management and supplier performance management processes and tools to deliver maximum value while managing risk.
Key Outcomes / Responsibilities
- Leads development & execution of sourcing strategies for chemical categoriesin North America
- Developsprocurement strategies that maintain and improve competitive business positions, in alignment with internal stakeholders and strategic business plans
- Negotiates procurement agreements that are consistent with the category strategy and best practices
- Manages key relationships with Buckman suppliers as part of an integrated and collaborative cross functional team
- Develops risk management plans for key spend categories
- Provides market intelligence and key insights to business stakeholders
- Utilizes market, spend, demand, cost and other quantitativeanalysis
- Conducts RF(X)s
- Leadsnew supplier qualification and substitution initiatives

Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, finance, mathematics, chemistry, engineeringor other quantitative discipline.
Minimum seven (7) years work experience in procurement, commercial and/or supply chain- a related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Highly Desirable Experiences
- MBA or other advanced degree
- 3+ years of experience managing chemical categories
- SAP and e-procurement software knowledge
