8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm.
Responsibilities
SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the role is to manage the storerooms to ensure maintenance spare parts are available for the maintenance team. The Storeroom coordinator will receive parts into inventory, organize existing parts and the storeroom, perform cycle counts, and Kit inventoried and direct purchased parts for planned work orders for the Maintenance Mechanics. The position will support the Storeroom, the Planner, Technicians, and Maintenance Supervisors. This position will have a direct impact on our Preventative and Predictive maintenance planning. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision, work within set deadlines, ability to work with team members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive ordered parts into inventory, and kit parts ordered for specific work orders
- Keep the storeroom organized and clean, ensure parts are in their specific bin or shelf
- Perform cycle counts on each part regularly to ensure parts are in stock
- Add new parts to inventory, and create them in the system. Print labels for each part
- Support the buyer by contacting vendors to identify part delivery issues
- Search Daily for work orders to have parts kitted for Maintenance Technicians.
- Daily acquire parts and build kits, deliver kits to specified area.
- Receive parts, kit as delivered, update work order status in accordance to the 8th Avenue work order management process.
- Issue parts from the work order after inventoried items have been pulled and kitted.
- Return unused parts from kits back into inventory utilizing CMMS.
- Attend weekly planning/scheduling meeting.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance system for history and parts inventory.
- Assist in goods receiving from UPS, FedEx, and other deliveries.
- Assist in delivering received goods to different departments throughout the plant.
- Assist in other assigned tasks in the Storeroom.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
EDUCATION:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- 2+ years’ maintenance or plant operations experience
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must be able to read and interpret various forms of documents and translate the data into a computerized inventory control system.
- Prior experience in a Storeroom or parts department is a plus.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office, Excel & CMMS System.
- Good math, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment.
- Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a “get-it-done, can-do” attitude self-starter.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all team peers and customers.
- Maintain accurate records and data.
