Assigned to support the 189th Division Sustainment Support Battalion (DSSB), the Stock Clerk is responsible for a variety of warehousing duties included, but not limited to, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receiving, stores, stacks, or palletizing materials, and removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping; supports wholesale supply chain functions to include: receiving and processing incoming assets from various supply sources, storage, inventory, packing, packaging, transportation, repair cycle support, cargo movement/planning, and demilitarization of equipment/parts prior to disposal action.
Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of the plant to expedite the processing of goods according to predetermined schedules and priorities and keeps related records and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders.
- Work with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) to receive, issue and storage of class II, IV and IX repair parts.
- Locates information on issue documents (MRO) and compares information on documents with parts being pull or put-a-ways.
- Must know the procedures for processing and finalizing documentation on incoming shipments. Locate items from information on issue documents and compare identifying information on document with locations bin tickets and national stock number.
- Receive items from CRP, inspect objects, and verify the national stock number, nomenclature, quantity, and process in the G-Army system. Signs documents confirming receipt of items.
- Receive incoming shipments and assist in unloading vehicles at the loading ramp. Inspects for damages, check items received against shipping documents and sign receipts as appropriate.
- Participates in periodic and special inventories.
- Customer services, answering telephones, providing advice, guidance, and information as appropriate.
- Operates Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) 2,000 – 6,000lbs.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) before, during, and after use of forklifts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Two (2) years or more experience in supply chain or logistical operations
- Able to attain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- U.S. Citizen
- GCSS-Army experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Familiar with the Department of the Army Inventory Management System.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and the use of Protected Personal Equipment and OSHA standards
