Sterilization Technician

Apopka Endodontics is searching for a Dental Sterilization Technician. This is a chance to be part of a fast-paced dental team in a patient-focused environment. This position supports the dental team with sterilization and administrative tasks. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, mindset, and work ethic to maintain a timely schedule, stock supplies, answer phones, schedule appointments, manage all tasks in the sterilization room, and keep the operatories sanitary and ready for treatment. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the dental field or just starting their career in dental assisting.
This position is in a dental practice setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Regular maintenance of sterilization equipment, hand piece motors, suction and traps
• Sterilize dental instruments and hand pieces
• Prepare instrument trays for treatments
• Breakdown and clean treatment rooms between patients
• Restock operatories
• Follow OSHA guidelines and maintain safe and effective working habits
• Answer phone, email, and message correspondence
• Schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals from general dentists
• Data entry
• Check patients in/out
• Supports dental staff and performs other duties as needed

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of computer software
• Demonstrate flexibility and be a team player

Education and Experience*

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dental knowledge/experience is appreciated, but not required.

Physical Requirements*

• Prolonged periods of standing
• Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at a time
• Visual acuity to read records and documents
