Statistical Research Analyst

IT Concepts is seeking a Statistical Research Analyst to design, execute, and deliver strategic analyses for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for finding creative ways to apply data to solve client problems. Ideally, this individual will have prior federal government experience and have current public trust clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with the planning and execution of complex, broad data analysis assignments to derive meaning from large and complex data sources in multiple formats (i.e., structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data).
• Supports team members and client requirements using approaches common to the field of data science including artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) techniques, programming languages (e.g., Python, R), data visualizations, and other analysis.
• Analyzes and interprets data using statistical modeling software.
• Creates spreadsheets and data analysis reports.
• Contributes to the creation, maintenance, and validation of programming tools and macros.
• Stays up to date with the latest trends and technologies for data extraction and analysis.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience required in statistics, economics, or mathematics.
• In-depth knowledge of statistical data modeling software.
• Experience with SQL, R Language, SAS, Python, UNIX, Linux, and SQL SAS software and systems.
• Ability to spot data trends and share analysis in a concise manner with recommended future actions.
• Knowledge of data mining and scrubbing.
• Advanced mathematical skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Above average communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent report writing skills documenting research in plain language for all audience levels.
• Flexible and adaptive in applying past learning and experiences to new and varied race and ethnicity topic areas.

Preferred Skills

• Previous federal government experience, preferably with the Social Security Administration.
• Previous experience with demographics-related data and analysis.
• Current Public Trust clearance.
