We are currently seeking a State and Local Tax Senior Associate to join our Tax practice in Chicago, IL.
This role allows a State and Local Tax Senior Associate to learn and grow as a team member focused on the following:
- Assisting Rӧdl & Partner's local office tax professionals with navigating State and Local Tax rules across all states
- Consulting with clients on implementing sales tax compliance, including automated solutions
- Researching and preparing sales tax research deliverables to international clients not familiar with U.S. sales tax laws
- Collaborating with internal software professionals on the development of Rӧdl & Partner's proprietary sales tax software solution
- Supporting sales tax audit activities and consulting with clients on audit defense strategies
- Supervising and providing timely feedback on tax deliverables prepared by associates
- Maintaining active communication to manage expectations and ensuring client satisfaction
- Preparing and finalizing clear, concise workpapers and other communications
- Managing priorities and providing status updates to team leaders in a timely manner
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university; Masters degree in Accounting or Tax preferred
- CPA, CMI, JD or LLM preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience focused on State and Local Tax consulting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly motivated individuals eager to grow in both technical tax knowledge and practical implementation of State and Local Tax strategies
- Proven team player with ability and desire to manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Detail-oriented professional with critical thinking skills
