JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Services Coordinator provides training to all staff and administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and other managers to help us meet our Ends of being central to thriving, healthy communities. This position will require working out of both of our locations, Menomonie and Eau Claire.

DELIVERABLES:

The Staff Services Coordinator is responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring new hires receive onboarding and storewide training that sets them up for success.
  • Ensuring all employees have access to continuing education and development.
  • Ensuring the Human Resources department is supported by completing administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTERNAL SERVICE

  • Provide excellent customer service to our shoppers, making customers’ needs the priority.
  • Inform customers about MMFC promotions, events, and the benefits of co-op ownership.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service to all staff, maintaining an attitude of goodwill toward oneself and others. Resolve internal conflicts proactively.
  • Create a work environment that is cooperative, fun, productive, safe, and solution focused.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues with the appropriate department manager.

LEADERSHIP

  • Model supportive and participatory leadership; promote team building within the staff.
  • Treat people with consistency and fairness; create a cooperative work environment.
  • Communicate clearly, directly, and respectfully.
  • Ensure the integrity of MMFC’s Ends Statement in decision-making and interactions.
  • Resolve interpersonal conflicts respectfully using proper channels.
  • Model all policies and procedures and uphold the Ends, vision, and values of the organization.

TRAINING

  • Maintain and provide onboarding, store tours and orientation sessions for all new hires.
  • Assist department managers with in-person training for department safety, customer service, ownership, and the co-op difference.
  • Create and conduct training programs that ready staff for management positions, and help staff grow at MMFC within their position or to new positions.
  • Maintain and conduct robust position training for captain, coordinator, and management level leadership positions.
  • Ensure that there is at least one staff training opportunity per month for employees to learn more about products, leadership, or cooperatives.
  • Create as-needed training materials or supplements, such as a yearly safety review quiz or an SOP for a new system.
  • Ensure staff are informed of other resources for training, including digital materials and subscriptions. Serve as Co+op U administrator.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for offsite training events.
  • Conduct and/or help develop other training as assigned.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

  • Prepare for new hires by printing paperwork, issuing key fobs, and more.
  • Assemble materials for events such as staff meetings, common date reviews, 90-day reviews, and benefits packets following the direction from the Human Resources Manager.
  • Serve as a chair of the Sunshine Club and ensure employees receive welcome, exit, birthday, and anniversary gifts.
  • Participate in planning and executing an annual all-staff meeting directed by the Human Resource Manager and General Manager.
  • Assist with basic payroll administrative tasks.
  • Ensure office supplies and safety supplies are well-stocked in both stores.
  • Assist with filing or data entry tasks, as needed.

DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Maintain department areas are in clean, safe, orderly condition.
  • Maintain department equipment in working order. Advise Human Resources Manager of equipment problems.
  • Participate in setting performance goals for department.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to serve both our Eau Claire and Menomonie stores each week.
  • Prior experience with creating or conducting training, preferably in a retail or kitchen setting.
  • Proficiency with Teams, and experience with Teams Administration is preferred
  • Computer literacy. Experience with presentation software such as Power Point.
  • Familiarity with training best practices.
  • Familiarity with basic HR concepts.
  • Familiarity with cooperatives and natural foods preferred.
  • Organized.
  • Excellent communication skills: public speaking, clear verbal and written instructions, listening well.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments and work independently.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm.
  • Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality
  • Attention to detail, accuracy.
  • Ability to safely lift 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Regular, predictable attendance.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
