CommonBond Communities invites qualified applicants to apply for Advantage Service Coordinator position at our Glenbrook property located in Milwaukee. This position is full time Monday-Friday, with regular hours, plus evenings and weekends throughout the year for community events. The primary responsibility of the Advantage Service Coordinator is to provide promote community building and engagement through resources, advocacy, crisis intervention, and supportive services to residents, as well as plan, coordinate, and evaluate programs designed to support resident housing stability. This role includes organizing weekly or bi-weekly community events based on resident requests and service needs. Your responsibilities include outreach through door-knocking and flyer distribution to promote these events, ensuring resident engagement and satisfaction. The position is a grant funded position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, promote, manage, and document the delivery of resident-centered
programs and services with a focus on housing stability. - Work collaboratively with property managers to provide lease education and support
residents in overcoming challenges to lease compliance. - Support resident associations, resident-led activities, and leadership development by
providing technical and resource support. Develop collaborative community relationships
to support resident housing stability. - Oversee site budget, prepare and document client case notes on a weekly basis, develop
and distribute monthly resident communication. - Promotes positive relationships within the community and surrounding neighborhood.
- Cover the phone line and email for other sites remotely from your site, one week out of the
month, and as needed during staffing shortages.
Other Responsibilities - Coordinates publication of monthly newsletter.
- Manage Summer Meal site and attend all external mandatory trainings.
- Oversee summer meal site volunteers, meet and greet and assign volunteers tasks.
- Actively participates in Advantage Services Wisconsin team meetings and promotes
collaborative problem solving and professional development. - Works collaboratively with property management staff and other departments of
CommonBond Communities.
Minimal Qualifications
1. Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people
various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels,
religious affiliations, races, and languages.
3. Ability to maintain existing partner network and community partnerships.
4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
5. Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with both internal and external
partners.
6. Experience providing individual services to a diverse population of individuals and families.
7. Experience using MS Office 365 and other software programs.
8. Be certified in CPR and First Aid or can become certified within six months of starting
position.
9. Demonstrated training and experience and working knowledge of local services and referral
processes for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of community resources and service networks.
2. Knowledge of low-income housing programs.
