Do you have experience with as a Long Term Care, Hospice Specialty, or Compounding Pharmacist? Do you have experience with SuiteRx-IPS Software? We are looking for an experienced, well rounded Pharmacist to add to our team! Only have some of this experience? We will train you on the rest!
Purpose:
Dispense, check, and counsel on medications, work with pharmacy Technicians and staff to execute all day-to-day requirements of running the pharmacy.
Schedule:
Schedule is flexible and negotiable, but looking for coverage of regular Pharmacy hours (8:15am-8pm, with overlapping shifts) 2-5 days a week and some Saturdays and Sundays (1pm-4pm) as a Staff Pharmacist in our Hospice Specialty Pharmacy as well as Per Diem On-call 1-3 days per week depending on schedule and and other Pharmacists on rotation. May have additional shift coverage options if desired.
On Call includes being available to answer phone calls, answer questions, counsel, and come into the pharmacy as needed to dispense medications, during the hours the pharmacy is not open. Per diem pay is $50 per weekday and $150 per weekend day in addition to an hourly rate (min 1 hour) for any time you need to come in to fill medications.
Experience/Education:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and current Pharmacist License (must be in good standing)
- Experience with Hospice, Long Term Care, and/or compounding.
- Software- SuiteRx-IPS
Essential Functions:
Come experience our closed-door Pharmacy with Hospice, Long Term Care, and Compounding Specialties and a big purpose!
- Assist Pharmacist in Charge with all daily functions of running the pharmacy
- Answer all phone calls during on-call hours, answer questions, log into pharmacy software remotely to investigate answers as needed
- Come in to pharmacy to fill medications as needed and coordinate with on-call delivery driver.
- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescriptions for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Provide advice on otc medications to treat common illnesses such as flu, cold sores, or headaches.
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as ambulatory infusion pumps.
- Identify patient’s drug related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc.
- Help manage daily functions and flow within the pharmacy, including directing Technicians and keeping the team on task.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to lift and push or pull up to 50lbs.
- Pick and pinch small tablets with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands.
- Perceive the size, shape, temperature, or texture of objects by touching with fingertips.
- See objects at close vision and be able to identify and distinguish colors.
